Form can guide focus, convey status, and reflect brand identity. Elements featuring prominent rounded edges are integral to our visual brand, as we rarely incorporate sharp corners. This deliberate choice highlights our logo's square corners, our font's sharp edges and deep inktraps, and our sharp Material icons.

Applying shape

Typically, the corner size applied to an element or component varies based on the size of the component itself, with some exceptions for specific UI elements like buttons. Consequently, nested elements with rounded corners will never exceed the corner size of their parent container.
